Youth Junior   (Ages 8-12)

Youth Junior  Division

Applicants must be at least 8 years old and not older than 12 years old as of March 15, 2026.

 

Preliminary Round

Video Submission 

 •  One repertoire piece of the performer's choice.  The piece should showcase the performer's technical skill and musical expression.  The video should clearly show the performer's hands, face, and feet for pedaling.

Regional Competition

Live Performance (Maximum 6 minutes)

Participants may prepare a longer program. The jury may stop the performance once the time limit is reached.

 

Repertoire:

•    One etude (classical or contemporary) 

showing technical difficulty and musical expression

           (e.g.  concert etudes by Chopin, Liszt, Rachmaninoff, Ligeti or Moszkowski; traditional etudes by Czerny or Burgmüller; or pedagogical technical pieces by  Kabalevsky or Kuhlau, appropriate to the applicant's level)

•    One Free choice Piece of the Applicant's Choice ( Non - Etude )

Regional Winners’ Recital (selected regions)

Live Performance (10 minutes)

    •    Extended program chosen by the performer

 

Final Round (Manhattan)

Live Performance (Maximum 15 minutes)

    •    Contrasting program showing artistry and technical command

    

Final Winners Recital ( Carnegie Hall )

 •    Winners perform 10 minutes solo recital repertoire in final winners recital at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall.

2026년 맨해튼 국제 피아노 콩쿠르에서는 전 세계의 모든 연령대의 피아니스트를 모집하여 국제 지역 콩쿠르에 참여하게 합니다. 이 콩쿠르에서 뛰어난 연주자가 선발되어 뉴욕시에서 열리는 최종 라운드에 진출하게 됩니다.

장소: 맨해튼 링컨 센터 브루노 월터 강당

2026 MIPC는 세 라운드로 구성됩니다. 영상 제출을 통한 예선전, 일련의 국제 지역 콩쿠르지역 우승자 독주회 , 그리고 맨해튼에서 열리는 최종 라운드 및 페스티벌입니다 . 선정된 수상자들은 2026-2027 시즌 동안 상금과 맨해튼 피아노페스트 장학금, 그리고 뉴욕, 유럽, 아시아에서 독주회를 가질 기회를 얻게 됩니다.

예선은 국제 심사위원단의 평가를 받는 영상 제출로 구성됩니다. 뛰어난 연주자들은 지역 우승자 독주회에 초대되며, 선정된 참가자들은 뉴욕 결선에 진출하여 심사위원단 앞에서 라이브 공연을 선보입니다.

지원 마감일: 2026년 3월 1일

조기 신청 마감일: 2026년 2월 1일 (할인율)

모든 지원자는 비디오를 제출해야 합니다.

2026년 대회의 총 상금은 현금 상금, 축제 장학금, 선정된 수상자에게 제공되는 국제 독주회 기회를 포함하여 10,000달러를 넘을 것으로 예상됩니다.

Repertoire regulation

All repertoire must be performed from memory

Repertoire may be repeated at each stage. However, performers who present new repertoire demonstrate greater artistic range and preparation, which may be reflected positively in the jury's evaluation.

Stage 2 – Regional Competition & Awards Ceremony (Live)

Regional competitions will be held in select international cities 

London | Tbilisi | Brescia | Tokyo | Osaka | Seoul | New York | Chicago | Philadelphia

Each regional event includes:

    •    Live performances before a professional jury

    •    Adjudication and written feedback for each participant

    •    Awards ceremony recognizing top performers in both divisions

Honorable Mentions & Special Prizes

Prize scholarships are applied as tuition credits toward participation in the Manhattan PianoFest and Final Round 

All winners receive an official printed certificate presented on stage during the ceremony.  Outstanding participants may be invited to the Final Round & Manhattan PianoFest in New York City​.

Stage 3 – Final Round & Manhattan PianoFest 

A select group of Youth Division finalists will be invited to New York City to participate in a 4-day festival featuring:

    •    High-level solo performances

    •    Master classes with world-class faculty

    •    Collaborative events and international cultural exchange

    •    Winners Recital at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall.  Final winners will perform 10-20 minutes program.

Finalist Numbers:

Youth Division (Junior & Senior combined): 10-12 finalists

Professional Division: 10-12 finalists
